I'll admit the Fourth is usually one of my favorite holidays, but this year I had to cancel it since my entire gastrointestinal system has collapsed. I can't remember the last time I've felt this bad. I can't tell if it's food poisoning or a wicked case of flu.

Yesterday the waitress at the Vista Grill asked me if my name was Melanie. Turns out she was Amy Butler, Kacie Butler's little sister. I was friends with Kacie back in middle school. Amy said she has a great memory with faces, and I agreed.
