BBVD tonight!
2004-05-30 - 1:28 p.m.

Grandma has turned into evil grandma once more. Just as things were finally getting normal, but I guess one member of the family always has to mess with the balance.

Jack's birthday is tomorrow and Ang (Jack's mum and my sister) invited only the people that see him every week. We find this logical, after all that's how all of us have had our birthdays. When I was little my birthdays consisted of Ma, Pa, Ang, and Mer (and the cat!). Not a huge thing, and we like it like that.

Well Grandma Berg (Dad's mum) was incredibly insulted that she wasn't invited though she only wants to see Jack on special occasions. She called my dad to complain about it, and he said it wasn't his place to invite her. She said she'd call Ang, but my Ma said she wasn't allowed to (lie!) blah blah blah. The conversation ended up with Grandma saying, "Well I really don't want to fund Jack's future education if I'm not even invited to his birthdays."

There are so many things wrong with the previous statement, but I'll hit on two: first, Jack didn't not invite her yet she's punishing him? And second, WHY DOESN'T SHE CALL ANG AND INVITE HER, PETE, AND JACK TO HER PLACE TO SPEND TIME WITH THEM?

Blech. She's so predictable it's pathetic.

1. Ignore Melanie who usually answers the phone, thinking Grandma was calling back from Melanie trying to reach her earlier for lunch/food/whatever.

2. Blame my Mum for all the evils and problems in the world.

3. Give Dad (her son) a guilt trip about ignoring her and how hateful his family is.

Now Ma and Pa are both upset. I don't like it when people my my parents unhappy. I get defensive.
