1.When you looked at yourself in the mirror today, what was the first thing you thought?
God my hair is long!

2. How much cash do you have on you?
I think I have a few dollars and a quarter. I’m totally rollin’ in it if I have enough to buy soup at Subway. If I carry any more, I’m tempted to splurge and buy a sammywich.

3. What’s a word that rhymes with DOOR?
Troubadour (yes, yes, it ends with the same word, it just means I’m a bad troubadour)

4. Do you label yourself?
On contra nights we use “Hello my name is” type labels. I forget names, so I’m quite happy we use them!

5.Bright or Dark Room?
One of the top three reasons I decided to rent my apartment is for the large bright windows. Also, I’m a naturalist that loves the wide open desert. Dark rooms make me claustrophobic.

6.Why is there always a missing question?
Because someone doesn’t wants to answer it, so deletes it.

7.What does your watch look like?
Plastic and from Walmart – but it survived the wet season with 4th graders – bring it on Timex!

8.What were you doing at midnight last night?
Reading Sense and Sensibility – sometimes I’ll just get the craving to read.

9.Where is your nearest 7-11?
About 7 blocks away. I checked to make sure there were 7-11’s before I even moved up here.

10.What’s a word that you say a lot?
Mmmhmmmmmm (real high pitched like)

11.Who told you he/she loved you last?
Adam through his flu-like fog

12.Last furry thing you touched?
My ratties

13.How many rolls of film do you need developed?
1 that should have been developed nearly four years ago. Is it too late now?

14.Favorite age you have been so far?
Being in elementary school was great, and my post UNR years are great because I’m really settling into who I am. Not like the other years were bad, but I should have enjoyed myself more.

15.Your worst enemy?
Expectations.

16.What is your current desktop picture?
A Sheldon comic strip

17.What was the last thing you said to someone?
Sleep well.

18.The last song you listened to?
Egyptian Harp something or rather. “Sunset Over the Nile” by Christina. Very calming.

19.What time of day were you born?
5:15pm – Rush hour!

20.What do you do when vending machines steal your money?
Hold a grudge, warn everyone, and potentially tape boycott flyers to it if the prices are ridiculous anyways.

21.Do you consider yourself kind?
Yes.

22.What’s your life motto?
I don’t have a phrase, but I just want to live with passion.

23.Name three things you have on you at all times.
Bellybutton, ears, and my thumb(drive).

24.Can you change the oil on a car?
And put Jiffy Lube out of a job??

A letter letter? Two weeks ago to an old college dormmate.

Friday’s Feast

Appetizer
If you could take lessons to learn any musical instrument, which would you want to learn?
Cello. Someday!

Soup
Have you ever mistaken a person for someone else?
Yup!

Salad
On a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being highest, how well do you keep secrets?
10 for important things, lower for silly rubbish.

What’s the closest you’ve ever been to a dangerous animal?
I held a rattler at bay with a giant Tupperware lid once.

Dessert
When was the last time you lost your patience?
Anytime my left eyebrow raises involuntarily.

Friday Fiver

1. How did you feel yesterday?
My antibiotics are working I think, but my ears fell “off” in a bad way. I’ll see the ENT Tuesday though.

2. What kind of obstacles do you face?
The apathy of people and the fact they don’t give a shit about something unless it affects them. The worst part is that so many are proud of it. Why else buy a Hummer?

3. Who is a good friend?
One that is there for you even if you rarely see/talk to them.

4. What is your fondest memory?
Eating clams with my family one Fourth.

5. Does time always kill pain?
Not if it’s a serious health issue. Sorry, but it’s the topic at the moment.

Five on Friday

1. What inspires you?
Clouds

2. What blocks your creativity?
Contentment mixed with laziness

3. Do you do anything special to get your creative juices flowing?
I look at the work of those I truly admire. Or I look at my own past work that I’m proud of. (Mer’s answer is exactly what I would say)

4. What time of day do you feel most inspired?
On a calm afternoon, or like 2 in the morning. Very inconvenient.

5. How do you like to express your creative energy?
Doodles

Four for Friday

Q1 - Smoking Bans: There’s little dispute that smoking and second-hand smoke is bad for your health. But did you know it could also be bad for your driving record? Last week in Maine, the Bangor City Council passed an ordinance making smoking while driving in the car with children under the age of 18 a primary offense, meaning the police can pull over motorists who are suspected of breaking the law, with violators being fined up to $50 per occurrence. Do you think the Bangor City Council made the right decision, or is this just another situation where the government is interfering in our lives?
The funny thing is that quite a chunk of those folks are against abortions, yet they aren’t really trying to keep theirs alive. Light it up when you are alone, commit suicide in whatever fashion you wish, but not at anyone else’s expense. They don’t have a choice, and neither should the smoker. Wow. I sound really bitter today!

Q2 - Time: Which do you prefer: Military Time/the 24-hour clock… “I’ll meet you at the gym at 19:00,” or the more traditional way of expressing time via the 12-hour clock… “I’ll meet you at the gym at 7:00 p.m.”?
I’ve been on the military clock for about 6 years, and I’d never go back. Sooooo much easier. Right now it’s 20:37. It just makes sense! Ang got me hooked, she switched when she became a nurse.

Q3 - You’re Outta Here!: Were you ever suspended from school, and if so, what for? If not, did you ever skip school? If you did, what was your most memorable skipping-school experience?
I honestly can’t remember. If I did, it was expected and I probably went and got a Slurpee. If I need to be somewhere, I’ll be there, and on time. (Geez, I should have been in the English Navy…)

Q4 - Gas: Sixty-five percent (65%) of U.S. respondents to a new UPI-Zogby International poll say a rise in gasoline prices to $4.00 a gallon would cause them to make a significant cutback in driving. Another 13.3 percent said it would take $5.00 a gallon for them to change habits, while 3.1 percent said $6.00 would get their attention. How about you…at what price per gallon would you choose or be forced to make a significant cutback or change in your driving habits?
Bucks a gallon... Oh wait! I’m actually affected not because of the money it costs me, but the lives in the Middle East and the potential destruction of Alaskan wilderness. I say hike it up to allow the technology THAT THE REST OF THE WORLD IS USING to surpass our lobbies and backwards vehicle construction. There is no reason that gas guzzlers should still exist. We can make heavy duty vehicles still, we just need to be smart about how they work! America may be a super power, but not for long if we can’t look towards the future. Come on, we still reject the metric system! How pathetic is that!? Okay, end rant.

Friday Five

1. Would you rather have a fun job that doesn’t pay well or a boring job that does?
I’m studying to be a biologist. Option A.

2. Would you sacrifice your morals for a job?
No. That’s one reason I got into this direction, I couldn’t live with myself if I didn’t try to make the world a better place.

3. Would you ever take a job that requires you to be in costume?
Yes, and I have. Dressed up like a vulture once and sang in front of 200! One of my favorites moments EVER.

4. What is your fantasy job?
An orca trainer!

5. Would you like fries with that?
Mmmhmmmm!
